Build an online shop that takes orders, payments and delivery details without relying on marketplaces. Our WooCommerce website design starts at £1,295, with products, checkout and growth tools ready to sell from day one.
Your online shop can take orders all day and still fail to grow sales. Products may be listed, but shoppers leave because delivery is unclear, checkout feels awkward or nobody follows up after an abandoned basket. A marketplace may bring orders, but it keeps the customer relationship and a share of every sale.
We build a complete online sales system around WooCommerce. Your own shop keeps more of each order, builds your customer list and gives you control over payments, stock, delivery and marketing. We handle the WooCommerce website development, then help you turn visits into repeat orders.
The problem
What is costing Online Shops work right now
Marketplace fees reduce every margin
Etsy, Amazon and other marketplaces take a share of each order. They also control the customer relationship, limit your follow-up and place your products beside cheaper competitors.
Build your own shop and keep more control
Orders arrive without repeat sales
A customer buys once, then disappears because no system asks for a review, suggests a related product or reminds them when they may need to reorder.
Connect follow-up emails after every purchase
Product details leave shoppers guessing
Missing measurements, delivery dates and return terms create hesitation. Visitors leave to find answers elsewhere, even when your product is right for them.
Every client also takes Website Care at £59 a month. Everything else is modular.

The result
What changes once it is live
More margin per order
Customers buy through a shop you control, rather than a marketplace that takes a slice. You keep the customer relationship and can sell again without starting from zero.
Fewer buying objections
Clear photos, sizes, delivery times, returns and reviews give shoppers the facts they need. They can decide without emailing you for basic information.
Orders move with less chasing
Payments, confirmations, stock changes and delivery choices follow a clear process. You spend less time checking messages and more time packing the right orders.
01
Your shop keeps selling while you pack yesterday's parcels
A catalogue only shows products. A sales system takes the order, takes the money and tells you what happened. We build your WooCommerce store around the work you already do, so orders move from checkout to packing without a pile of messages to chase.
You own the shop, the customer details and the relationship. You are not handing a slice of every order to Etsy, Amazon, eBay or Not On The High Street. You can also contact past buyers with useful offers, new products and reminders. Start with the Ecommerce Launch package if you need a clear, credible shop for around 30 products.
WooCommerce specialists configure your shop around real orders
Secure customer accounts and guest checkout options
Order emails sent to you and your customer automatically
Clear order statuses for payment, packing and dispatch
Product, category and search pages built for buying
Your own customer list, rather than a marketplace-owned audience
02
Product pages answer doubts before shoppers leave
People rarely abandon a product because they dislike it. They leave because they cannot judge the size, quality, delivery date or return process. Our wordpress ecommerce website design puts those answers beside the product, where the decision happens.
We structure photos, descriptions and reviews around real buying objections. A clothing shop can show measurements and fit notes. A gift shop can explain packaging and dispatch dates. A furniture seller can state dimensions, materials and room suitability. Add your strongest reviews to the product page, not a hidden testimonials page.
Multiple product photos with useful viewing angles
Sizing, dimensions, materials and care details
Delivery costs and estimated arrival dates shown early
Returns, exchanges and damaged-item instructions made clear
Variations for colour, size, finish or pack quantity
Customer reviews displayed beside the buying decision

More on websites for online shops
The rest of what online shops ask us, tidied away. Open what you need.
A shopper who reaches checkout already wants the product. Extra steps, unclear charges or a failed payment can still lose the order. We create a mobile-first checkout with the fewest practical steps, clear costs and no surprise charge on the last screen.
Stripe handles card payments securely, while PayPal can give cautious buyers another familiar choice. We test the full journey on phones and computers, including failed payments, confirmation emails and order details. Add both payment methods where your customers use them, then test the checkout before launch.
Stripe card payments configured and tested
PayPal added where it suits your customers
Guest checkout to avoid forced account creation
Delivery, tax and order totals shown before payment
Mobile checkout with clear fields and large buttons
Confirmation emails with useful order information
Delivery can make a profitable order lose money. A single flat rate may undercharge for heavy parcels, while unclear rules create support emails. We set rates by weight, product type, postcode zone or order value, then show the right option at checkout.
You can offer free delivery above a threshold that protects your margin, or let nearby customers click and collect. Stock levels update as orders arrive, so you do not sell the last item twice. Before launch, we test ordinary orders, mixed baskets, low-stock products and collection orders.
Shipping rates set by weight, zone or basket value
Free delivery threshold based on your margin
Click and collect with collection instructions
Low-stock alerts for products that need reordering
Stock deducted when successful orders are placed
Dispatch and collection details included in customer emails
People often search for the exact product they want. Your shop needs more than attractive pages to appear in those searches. We connect Google Merchant Centre and create the product feed, so Google can read your names, prices, images and availability for Shopping listings.
We build category and product pages around the words your customers use. We can also connect your Meta catalogue for retargeting, so visitors can see a product again after leaving. This gives your store more chances to sell without relying on one marketplace or one advert.
Google Merchant Centre account and product feed
Google Shopping setup for names, prices and stock
Category pages organised around real product searches
Product pages written to explain value and remove doubt
Meta catalogue connected for retargeting campaigns
Local search support for shops serving your area
Many shoppers add products, enter their details and leave before paying. That lost basket is not always lost interest. They may have been interrupted, comparing delivery costs or waiting for payday. A useful reminder gives them a simple way back to the exact products they considered.
We connect Mailchimp or Klaviyo and set up abandoned basket emails around your products and margins. We can also add post-purchase follow-up, such as care advice, review requests and related products. These messages keep working after the shop is launched, without you sending every email by hand.
Abandoned basket emails linked to the products left behind
Mailchimp or Klaviyo connection and list setup
Timed reminders with a direct return to checkout
Post-purchase emails for advice, reviews and related items
Customer groups for first orders and repeat buyers
Email wording checked against your brand and margin
Sales totals alone do not tell you what is working. We configure ecommerce tracking in GA4, so you can see revenue by channel, product and campaign. You can compare Google, social media, email and direct visits instead of guessing where the next pound should go.
The reports also show where shoppers drop out. That might be a product page, delivery choice, payment step or account screen. We connect the key events and explain what they mean in plain English. Use the first report to choose one practical improvement, not to collect numbers nobody reads.
GA4 ecommerce tracking configured for your shop
Revenue reports by product, source and campaign
Shopping and advert traffic separated from direct visits
Checkout steps tracked to show where people leave
Product performance compared by sales and value
Monthly reporting available through ongoing marketing support
Ecommerce Launch costs £2,495 and suits a shop with around 30 products that needs to start selling properly. Ecommerce Growth costs £3,995 and is the package most businesses should choose. It adds the marketing automation and sales foundations needed to bring people back and grow orders.
Ecommerce Pro starts from £5,995 for established shops with subscriptions, trade pricing, large catalogues, migrations or complex integrations. Ecommerce Care is required at £99 a month. A shop needs more attention than a brochure site because payments, stock and extensions must keep working. Choose your package, then we will map the build around your products and operations.

The honest comparison
Why do some websites cost £199?
It is a fair question, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a sales pitch.
If you simply need a basic online presence, a low-cost website builder may be enough. Somewhere to point people who already know your name. If that is genuinely all you need, do that and spend the money elsewhere. We would rather tell you that than take a fee for something you will not use.
Our websites are designed for established businesses that want Google traffic to turn into calls, enquiries and customers. Copy, tracking, conversion setup and ongoing management are built in. That is a different product solving a different problem, and it is priced accordingly.
A £199 builder site
Fine for a basic presence. Not built to win work.
A Look North website
Built so search traffic becomes booked jobs.
Who writes the words
A £199 builder site
You do, usually at 11pm, into a blank box.
A Look North website
We do. Copywriting for every page is included, written around the jobs you actually want.
Whether it shows up on Google
A £199 builder site
It will rank for your business name. Not much else.
A Look North website
A page for every service and every town you cover, structured so each one can rank.
What happens to an enquiry
A £199 builder site
A contact form emails you. If you miss it, you miss it.
A Look North website
Quote forms written for your trade, instant SMS and email alerts, and every enquiry stored so none are lost.
When the phone rings and you are on a job
A £199 builder site
It goes to voicemail. Most callers hang up and ring the next business.
A Look North website
Our AI receptionist answers 24/7 in your business name, takes the details and texts you straight away.
Knowing what is working
A £199 builder site
A visitor counter, if that.
A Look North website
Call tracking, conversion tracking and call attribution, so you know which clicks became real jobs.
Getting reviews
A £199 builder site
You remember to ask, sometimes.
A Look North website
Review generation set up so a request goes out after every job, with the results shown on your site.
What happens after launch
A £199 builder site
Nothing. It sits there until you cancel the subscription.
A Look North website
The Marketing Coach gives you a plan broken into weekly jobs, so the site keeps earning its keep.
Who owns it
A £199 builder site
The platform. Stop paying and it disappears.
A Look North website
You do. The code, the domain, the hosting account and the content are yours.
Speed on a phone
A £199 builder site
Template bloat, often slow, which costs you rankings and visitors.
A Look North website
Built mobile first, because that is where almost every local search happens.
When something breaks
A £199 builder site
A help centre article and a support queue.
A Look North website
Website Care at £59 a month: monitoring, backups, updates, and a person who answers.
We have a £199 a month option too. It is not the same thing.
If the upfront cost is the blocker rather than the quality, we do a no upfront option at £199 a month on a 24 month term. That is not a builder subscription. It is a real site built for your trade, with hosting, Website Care and the AI receptionist included, live in 5 working days. The difference between that and a £199 builder site is the difference between renting a van and renting a parking space.
Not features. The things that change how much work comes in.
01
Every call answered
A missed call is a customer ringing your competitor. The AI receptionist picks up 24/7, qualifies the job and texts you. Most trades win back more than the cost of the whole website in the first few months.
02
Found for the work you want
One page cannot rank for eight services across twelve towns. We build a page for each, so you show up for the specific job someone is searching for right now.
03
Enquiries you can price
Not "how much for a bathroom?" but property type, scale, access, timing and photos. You quote accurately, first, without a site visit.
04
Proof that compounds
A review request after every job. In a year you have the review count competitors cannot catch up with, and reviews are the last thing a customer checks before calling.
05
Words written for you
Copywriting for every page is included. No blank boxes, no writing your own service descriptions at 11pm, no page that sounds like everyone else.
06
Proof of what paid off
Call tracking and conversion tracking show which clicks turned into jobs. You stop guessing which half of the marketing worked.
07
A plan for after launch
The Marketing Coach turns a strategy into weekly jobs small enough to actually finish. That is why our sites are still growing a year later.
08
You own the lot
Code, domain, hosting, content and your Google Business Profile. Nothing switches off if you leave, because nothing was rented to you.
If a basic presence is all you need, a builder is the sensible choice and we will say so. If you want the phone to ring more often, that is what we build.

FAQ
Online Shops ask us these most
Price, timescales and ownership, answered for a online shop.
Ecommerce Launch costs £2,495 for a shop with around 30 products. Ecommerce Growth costs £3,995 and suits most businesses that want marketing automation and stronger sales foundations. Ecommerce Pro starts from £5,995 for subscriptions, trade pricing, migrations or complex connections. All prices exclude VAT. Hosting, security, updates and support are covered by required Ecommerce Care at £99 a month.
The time depends on your product count, content, payment checks and any migration. A focused Launch build can move quickly when product information and images are ready. Larger shops take longer because we test variations, stock, delivery rules and orders. We agree the stages before work begins, then give you clear tasks for supplying products, policies and account access.
The £59 Website Care plan is for brochure websites and is not suitable for an online shop. Ecommerce Care is £99 a month because a shop has payments, stock, orders and extra extensions to keep working. It includes hosting, SSL, daily backups, security monitoring, software updates, uptime monitoring, up to 30 minutes of content changes each month and email support. It is required for every ecommerce client.
We offer Website Care at £59 a month for standard sites, but it is not the plan used for ecommerce. Shops need Ecommerce Care at £99 a month because a broken checkout or stock problem can stop orders. The ecommerce plan includes the same core protection and support, sized for a store. This avoids treating a payment system like a simple brochure site.
Yes. We can migrate to WooCommerce from Shopify, Wix or Squarespace, subject to the data and features involved. We review products, variations, customers, orders, images, URLs and payment settings before quoting. We also check redirects and test the new shop before launch. Keep the old shop available until the new one has passed payment, delivery and stock tests.
You own the website, your shop content and the customer information collected through it, subject to your legal duties and payment provider rules. We build and manage the site for you, but you are not renting a marketplace page. We can give you access to the relevant accounts and explain what each service does.
WooCommerce itself does not charge a monthly platform fee for the core software. You still need hosting, security, updates and support, which is why Ecommerce Care is required at £99 a month. Payment providers such as Stripe and PayPal charge their own transaction fees. We do not mark up Google Ads spend, which is billed separately by Google.
Yes. We configure Stripe for card payments and can add PayPal where it helps your customers feel comfortable. We test successful payments, failed payments, refunds, confirmation emails and order records. You create or own the payment accounts, and the providers apply their own transaction charges. We will tell you what information they need before the shop goes live.
Yes. We can set delivery by weight, order value, product type or postcode zone. We can also set a free delivery threshold that protects your margin, rather than choosing a number at random. Click and collect can be added with collection times and instructions. We test mixed baskets and unusual weights so the checkout shows a sensible charge.
WooCommerce can reduce stock when a successful order is placed and show low-stock notices to you. We configure stock quantities, product variations and back-order rules around how you actually buy and dispatch products. If you also sell through another system or marketplace, we check whether a separate stock connection is needed. That integration may require extra work and a separate service.
Yes. We can connect Google Merchant Centre and create the product feed that sends names, prices, images and availability to Google. We also prepare product and category pages for searches related to what you sell. Paid Shopping adverts still need an approved Google account and separate ad spend. We can manage campaigns through Google Ads Management at £449 a month.
Google charges the advertising spend directly, and that cost is separate from our fee. We never mark up your ad spend. Google Ads Management is £449 a month and includes campaign management, bid and budget changes, advert testing, unwanted search filtering, landing page improvements and a monthly reporting call. We agree a sensible starting budget after reviewing your margins, products and goals.
The AI Receptionist costs £169 a month and answers calls 24/7 in your business name. It can take the caller's details, qualify the enquiry and text you immediately. It can help when you are packing orders, driving or away from the phone. It is not a replacement for shop support, and we only teach it information you approve.
Yes. You can start for £199 a month on a 24 month term, with no setup fee. This includes a template shop built for your trade, hosting, care and the AI Receptionist. It is designed for businesses that want to start without the upfront cost. The full ecommerce packages offer more control and complexity, so we will compare both routes before you choose.
For a normal project, 50% is due when you sign and 50% on launch. Monthly billing starts at launch, with a 12 month minimum term and monthly billing thereafter. Modules can be added at any time. All prices exclude VAT. We explain the build, care plan and any marketing modules in your quote, so you know what is included before agreeing.
